    Comedian Frank Shuster was one-half of the iconic Canadian comedy duo, Wayne and Shuster. Along with UC classmate Johnny Wayne, he developed their trademark brand of satirical, literate slapstick. The pair performed skits on CBC Radio throughout the 1940s and gained international renown through guest appearances on television in the 1950s, notably on The Ed Sullivan Show and the BBC.

  3. Frank Shuster, the quieter half of Canada's most famous comedy team, died of pneumonia yesterday at Mount Sinai Hospital. He was 85. Mr. Shuster's death brought down the final curtain on the most successful show business partnership in Canadian history. His partner, Johnny Wayne, predeceased him in 1990.
