Luther Nallie; See the Timeline section: The Sons of the Pioneers are one of the United States' earliest Western singing groups. Known for their vocal performances, their musicianship, and their songwriting, they produced innovative recordings that have inspired many Western music performers and remained popular through the years.
Tommy Nallie is the “Trail Boss” of the group, a title held by only three individuals before him. As Trail Boss Tommy is the official curator of the famous ‘Pioneer sound,’ with the responsibility of making sure that every audience experiences the beautiful harmony singing and repertoire that made the band world famous.
Group "trail boss," Dale Warren, died in August of 2008, ending a 56-year stint with the group. The group still performs regularly at concerts in Branson, Missouri and other locations, as of 2010, led by current "trail boss" Luther Nallie. Current members are Luther Nallie, Gary LeMaster, Ken Lattimore, Randy Rudd, Ricky Boen and Mark Abbott.
