There are two different "Albion Heart" releases by The Albion Band. This is the second, a 1999 compilation of HTD albums from the nineties. The original Albion Heart album was issued in 1995.

Albion Heart, released in 1995, was the second album of the long running Albion Band's acoustic phase and the first to contain both Chris While and Julie Matthews, marking the beginning of their highly successful collaboration. It benefits from their song writing and instrumental talents, but is almost unique in the history of the band for its lack of traditional English instruments or tunes.
Geschiedenis. De band werd in 1971 of 1972 geformeerd door Fairport Convention- en Steeleye Span-oprichter Ashley Hutchings.Eerst kwam Dave Mattacks van Fairport Convention erbij, later dat jaar Richard Thompson en Linda Thompson.In augustus 1973 kwam hun album Battle of the Field uit. Hun andere bekende album Rise Up Like the Sun werd uitgebracht onder de nieuwe naam The Albion Band.
