The Average White Band (also known as AWB) are a Scottish funk and R&B band that had a series of soul and disco hits between 1974 and 1980. ... They were one of the earliest bands to get a funk instrumental Top 10 pop radio with "Pick Up The Pieces" from their AWB.By the mid 70's the bands fortunes began to decline on both sides of the Atlantic as their sound became somewhat more artistic and album oriented.
