16 de may. de 2024 · Marie-Thérèse Walter (13 July 1909 – 20 October 1977) was the French mistress and model of Pablo Picasso from 1927 to about 1935, and the mother of his daughter, Maya Widmaier-Picasso. Their relationship began when she was seventeen years old; he was 45 and still living with his first wife, Olga Khokhlova.
Bust of a Woman (Marie-Thérèse) is a 1931 sculpture by the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso that depicts Marie-Thérèse Walter, who was Picasso's mistress at the time of its creation. In 2016 the ownership of the sculpture was the subject of a legal dispute between Qatar and the American art dealer Larry Gagosian, who had resold the bust to Leon Black.
Le Rêve (English: The Dream) is a 1932 oil on canvas painting (130 × 97 cm) by Pablo Picasso, then 50 years old, portraying his 22-year-old mistress Marie-Thérèse Walter.It is said to have been painted in one afternoon, on 24 January 1932. It belongs to Picasso's period of distorted depictions, with its oversimplified outlines and contrasted colors resembling early cubism.
