The Halley Academy opened as a new school within Leigh Academies Trust in 2018. The principal was appointed at the same time, and there have also been other substantial staff changes. The school has a specially resourced provision for 16 pupils with autism spectrum disorder. This is known as the Infinity Hub.
Sixth Form Application for September 2024. Students from both The Halley Academy and other schools are invited to apply to the Sixth Form. All applicants will attend a short interview with a member of the Sixth Form Team where their suitability for courses will be discussed. Students offered places will be conditional upon GCSE grades.
