Hit up the local swap meet on a whim today and came out with some diamonds. Amongst a stack of late 60s folk, psych, jazz, and blues (I also bought about 20 other great records) was GTOs Permanent Damage in great condition minus some ringwear on the back of the jacket. I've only heard of this album but haven't listened to it.
9 de ene. de 2018 · Even if it didn’t reach many, Permanent Damage (with Frank Zappa’s seal of approval) afforded the GTOs the voice that free-spirited women of the late-60s were usually denied. Decades later, with the release of her 1987 book, I’m With The Band , Pamela Des Barres took the reins of her story and detailed her escapades — not all of them sexual — before, during, and after the GTOs.
A young Rod Stewart also happens on the vocalist of one track. Permanent Damage was re-issued on CD in 1989 by Enigma Retro. This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated. As outlined by Frank, G.T.O. stands for Girls Together Occasionally, Girls Together Only, or Girls Together Often.

The resultant album, 'Permanent Damage', consequently featured a number of renowned musicians who happened to be around the LA 'freak scene' during these psychedelic and experimental music times.
