The Country Of The Blinds is in the same style as Learn To Talk, but there are a number of interesting contrasts. The expanded line up makes for a fuller sound, although things are no smoother than previously; Fred Frith remains the principal vocalist, but there are far more harmonies and shared vocals this time around; and the use of tapes has been abandoned.
Skeleton Crew goes from being a two person one-man band to a trio with the addition of Zeena Parkins. This album is very much a continuation of the band's previous album Learn to Talk. Although the lyrics still have a poilitical leaning to them, they seem a little less tied to Reagan era concerns than before - and therefore are maybe a little less dated.
