31 de mar. de 2024 · Len Garry played tea upper body bass in the Quarry Males in 1957 and 1958, if they were even now doing some skiffle music. They do rock’n’roll as well, but tea upper body bass was area of the instrumentation for most young British sets of the time, not merely because it participate in the skiffle repertoire, but also since it was less costly than a power bass and amp.

Al tempo, quando il merseybeat non aveva ancora messo le sue radici, erano considerati come una skiffle band, sull'onda di quella che era la moda musicale di fine anni cinquanta ed inizi anni sessanta. The Quarrymen è la prima band musicale fondata nell'autunno 1956 – e attiva fino al 1959 – dal futuro Beatle John Lennon.
9 de abr. de 2020 · Lennon formed the skiffle and rock 'n' roll group in early 1957 alongside Rod Davis, Pete Shotton, Colin Hanton, Eric Griffiths and Len Garry. The group was later joined by McCartney and Harrison.

Ce jour là un autre bassiste, Len Garry fait parti de la fête et quelques semaines plus tard il remplacera Bill Smith limogé pour avoir manqué trop de répétitions.
