The membership of Downing College comprises around 500 postgraduate students, 500 undergraduates and 48 Fellows. Accommodation ranges from modern study-bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms to spacious wood-panelled rooms in older parts of the College. Many rooms have splendid views of the Quadrangle. All rooms at Downing are centrally heated and well furnished, with high-speed internet access. All accommodation has access to kitchen and laundry facilities.
Founded in 1800, Downing is both the newest of the ‘old’ Colleges and the oldest of the ‘new’, set in a spacious landscape of lawns, trees and gardens in the heart of Cambridge.
