Money and Cigarettes is the eighth studio album by British musician Eric Clapton . It was recorded late 1982 and released in February 1983. On the cover he is seen with a cigarette and a melting Fender Stratocaster. Clapton chose the name for this album because after his first withdrawal from alcohol he had nothing left but money and cigarettes.
