Background: It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when but at some point over the past 20 years music writers and critics began casting a considerably more benevolent eye toward Paul McCartney’s post-Beatle output than they’d offered up in the past.
2 de dic. de 2006 · They recorded Back To The Egg in 1979, to release it later that year. They would give some great rockers like "Getting Closer," or "Old Siam Sir" (the latter very much a slow burning punk song.) They did not shy away from softer numbers however, including the album's most beautiful ballad, "Winter Rose/Love Awake," the most heavily produced and arranged song on the album.
8 de jul. de 2013 · But while home-runs might seem scarce, the album is full of solid doubles and triples, a few pop flies, and no blatant errors. It’s a good album. But good wasn’t good enough. Lacking a standout single, Back To The Egg didn’t see quite the sales of his previous releases. It did go Platinum in the US and Gold in the UK.

From paulmccartney.com: Back To The Egg was the ninth and final studio album by Wings, the band having acquired two new members in guitarist Laurence Juber and drummer Steve Holly. The album saw Paul work alongside producer Chris Thomas, who had trained as a producer during recording of The Beatles’ 1968 eponymous classic (the White Album).
