One can say it took some guts to step into the DR. FEELGOOD ranks, when Wilco Johnson left the group, and co-wrote, with Nick Lowe, their only Top 10 single, “Milk And Alcohol.”.

Gypie Mayo (nacido como John Philip Cawthra; 24 de julio de 1951 - 23 de octubre de 2013) [1] fue un guitarrista y compositor inglés, fue parte de Dr. Feelgood entre 1977 a 1981, y de 1996 a 2004, en los Yardbirds con Alan Glen. [2] Carrera. Mayo nació en Hammersmith, Londres.

Gypie Mayo passed away yesterday aged 62, he launched his career as the replacement for Wilko Johnson in Dr Feelgood back in 1977, but later became known as one of the men who relaunched the Yardbirds. I had the honour of meeting Gypie Mayo a long time ago.
Gypie Mayo (rodným jménem John Philip Cawthra; 24. července 1951 – 23. října 2013) byl britský rockový kytarista. Ke kytaře se dostal poté, co slyšel píseň „Apache“ v podání skupiny The Shadows. Hudbě se začal věnovat v roce 1969, kdy hrál v bluesové kapele White Mule.
