A ghost's whistle weaves itself around a pulsing single note on 'Lonesome Infidel'; 'Feast to Famine's' hard luck story floats above a guitar part so strung out and washed with distortion it's become barely recognisable.

Mark Lanegan and Duke Garwood don't disappoint. Lanegan's beautiful, plaintive lyrics (another volume of collected lyrics to accompany 'I am the Wolf', please) over Garwood's delicate picking set against minimalist soundscapes: just beautiful. An album for all seasons, but especially for the gloaming or dusk times, but that's just me.
