Robert Steven „Adrian“ Belew (* 23.Dezember 1949 in Covington, Kentucky, USA) ist ein US-amerikanischer Gitarrist und Komponist.. Belew ist vor allem durch die Progressive-Rock-Band King Crimson bekannt, bei der er von 1981 bis 2013 Sänger und Gitarrist war. Vorher spielte Belew unter anderem bei Frank Zappa, Caifanes, den Talking Heads und David Bowie.

Some figured that Adrian Belew's 1990 solo effort, Young Lions, was going to be the album that finally broke this often overlooked and underrated guitarist to the mainstream rock crowd.
Whatever it is, Young Lions is the blemish of Adrian Belew's career (in my opinion of course). There are some good songs here, though. Pretty Pink Rose was the single release from this album, and the collaboration between Belew and Bowie is great and Bowie sounds fantastic on this song.

28 de mar. de 2024 · Young Lions – (Adrian Belew, from 1990’s Young Lions) Belew’s fifth solo album is a bit of a grab-bag, source-wise – compiling covers of The Traveling Wilburys ( Not Alone Anymore ) and, technically, himself (King Crimson’s Heartbeat ); two link-ups with Bowie ( Pretty Pink Rose and Gunman ); and a track that samples radio evangelist Prophet Omega ( I Am What I Am ).
