The Jesus and Mary Chain had caught the hearts and ears of the press thanks to the savage fuzz of the group’s first 7-inch, led by the ultra-hooky “Upside Down.” And the noise would only grow louder with the release of Psychocandy. Songs like “In a Hole” and “Inside Me” sizzled with saturated and sustained high-end tones.
I've really liked the Jesus and Mary Chain for about 30 years. Darklands is my favorite album of theirs. I was wondering if anyone else has trouble listening to Psychocandy because it hurts their ears. I have listened to it on CD, streaming and on Vinyl. For reference absolutely no Sonic Youth album hurts my ears. I have never been feedback averse.
