Their third album, second with Capitol Records, is an intimately introspective work that relies far less on crutches of echo-laden mixing that uniformly characterizes the band’s earlier output and results in an unexpectedly understated sound for a follow-up to such a commercially accomplished record, 1993’s So Tonight That I Might See.
