Toen hij 4 jaar oud had Harper een rolletje in Sesamstraat waar hij samen met zijn vader het liedje "Bingo" zong. Na zijn opleiding aan Berklee College of Music in Boston verhuisde Harper voor een paar jaar naar Londen.
