Carolyn Hester was a folkie who had already released a bevy of albums as a solo artist before this, her debut coming in 1957! The Coalition was formed obviously to cash in a bit on the psychedelia craze that was going around at the time and that is what is mostly on tap here, psych pop/rock/folk with Hester's folk leanings coming in pretty heavily.
1 de may. de 2009 · Carolyn Hester has a great voice and her band the Coalition sounds great on this album too. I really like this quite a bit and more fans of late 60's music should check this one out, it's very good! I give it 4 stars, and if it was longer in length I'd easily give it 5 stars!

Carolyn Hester had been away from the recording scene for a few years when she re-emerged in the late 1960s as the centerpiece of the Carolyn Hester Coalition, a psychedelic- and folk-tinged rock group.It's hard to read this as anything but an attempt to keep up with the times on the part of someone who missed the boat that made folk and folk-rock a commercial proposition.
