31 de dic. de 2014 · Bob Weir had been a member of Kingfish in the mid-70's, when the Grateful Dead were on their first hiatus. He reunited with Matt Kelly and the "new" Kingfish between 1984 to 1987, during another slow period for the Dead due to Garcia's ill health. Matt Kelly was the only remaining original member.
Weir also founded and played in several other bands during and after his career with the Grateful Dead, including Kingfish, the Bob Weir Band, Bobby and the Midnites, Scaring the Children, RatDog, and his newest band Furthur, co-led by former Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh. more »

7 de oct. de 2009 · Kingfish was a popular rock band from 1974 through the end of the 20th century, but never more so than when it included Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir. Since the early period of Weir's involvement with Kingfish, starting in 1974, mostly consisted of local Bay Area gigs, it has been hard to track the history of the band.
Kingfish is not to be confused with the band's 1976 debut album, which is also titled Kingfish. Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead , who was a member of Kingfish from 1974 to 1976, plays on seven of the album's thirteen songs.
