In 2016, the program received a $16 million contribution from The Starr Foundation and was renamed the Maurice R. Greenberg World Fellows Program.

We are shocked, saddened and angered at the apparent attack on Alexey Navalny, a 2010 Yale World Fellow. We are thankful that Alexey is now in Germany, receiving the specialized care he needs, and hope he makes a full recovery.

The 2007 World Fellows The 2007 Yale World Fellows include a top television news broadcaster in China, the Chief Operating Officer of the BBC’s New Media unit, members of parliament from Singapore and Ukraine, and one of Southeast Asia’s most critically acclaimed playwrights.
Class of 2021. A Brazilian diplomat, an Israeli journalist, and a British expert in the ethics of artificial intelligence are among the 16 women and men who have been selected as 2021 World Fellows. This cohort brings the total number of World Fellows since the program’s start in 2002 to nearly 400 Fellows, representing 91 countries.
