The Mint Chicks were an experimental noise rock/power pop group from Auckland, New Zealand consisting of Kody Nielson (vocals, keyboards), Ruban Nielson (guitar, vocals), Michael Logie (bass) and Paul Roper (drums). Formed in 2001, they began by playing punk house parties and low profile shows before being discovered by acclaimed New Zealand independent record label Flying Nun Records.
The Mint Chicks are nominated for: 'Best Music Video' for 'Post no Bills'; 'Best Live Act' and 'Best Rock Release' for 'Octagon Octagon Octagon'. The band have just returned from their first run of successful shows in the UK and USA playing shows with the likes of The Datsuns, The Avengers, TV On The Radio and The Young Knives.
