23 de ago. de 2014 · This 2-CD set contains The Dillards first three albums they recorded on the Elektra label in the mid 60’s. The first one is a studio album. Album two was recorded live. Album three is a instrumental fiddle album with the well known fiddler Byron Berline. Lots of well performed bluegrass tune on this set. Great banjo from Douglas Dillard here.
The Dillards' third album was recorded at a time when they were getting ready to expand beyond the boundaries of bluegrass into folk-rock and country-rock. It's a little peculiar, then, that Pickin' and Fiddlin' with Byron Berline gives no indication of the directions they were about to follow.

Nov 8, 2016. referencing Wheatstraw Suite ( CD, Album, Reissue) CCM-280-2. If you can grab the three-fer Pickin' & Fiddlin', Wheatstraw Suite and Copperfields, go for that. This particular release from Collector's Choice isn't the worst thing in the world but the NR artifacts are rather irritating.
