Twohy then returned to screenwriting, co-authoring the Demi Moore hit "G.I. Jane" before crafting what would prove to be one of his most popular features. "Pitch Black" was a clever blend of science fiction, horror and noir that focused on the survivors of a spaceship crash on a seemingly deserted planet that actually served as home for ferocious, nocturnal winged monsters.
