24 de jun. de 2015 · Inside Biography. Mitchell Lee Wiggins was born on 26th September 1959 in Kinston, North Carolina where he spent most of his childhood playing basketball. Wiggins attended North Lenoir high school located in LaGrange where he enthusiastically began playing basketball. He then went on to attend Truett-McConnell CC from 1978-1979.

Both of Wiggins' parents are in the Florida State Athletic Hall of Fame. His father, Mitchell, was an honorable mention All-American at Florida State and went on to play six seasons in the NBA. His mother, Marita, was a 21-time NCAA All-American sprinter and went on to win two silver medals for Canada at the 1984 Olympic Games.
