In our Winter 2008 issue, Derek See interviewed James Williamson, the lead guitarist on The Stooges' seminal 1973 album Raw Power. In that article we ran a couple of photos of the 1969 Les Paul Williamson used on the LP. Since Raw Power has recently been reissued on CD, I thought it would be cool to show you some other shots from the photo session.
James Williamson, född 29 oktober 1949 i Castroville, Texas, är en amerikansk musiker, mest känd som gitarrist i rockbandet The Stooges.. Williamson blev Stooges andra gitarrist när han 1971 ersatte Ron Asheton, som istället kom att spela bas.Han spelade på gruppens tredje album, Raw Power från 1973, och skrev även tillsammans med Iggy Pop alla låtarna på albumet.
James Robert Williamson was born on October 29, 1949 in Texas and slung a guitar over his shoulder after his sister brought home some Elvis records. When his family moved to the Detroit area he ended up as a neighbor to a family where everyone played and that helped him get better.
