Hace 4 días · In the late 1940s in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Ike Turner formed The Kings of Rhythm, a rhythm and blues and soul group. The group was still making music until 2007 when Ike Turner died. Probably best known for their 1951 hit "Rocket 88" which was credited to Jackie Brenston and His Delta Cats (Mr Brenston was a sax player in the band).
