Roy never knew his mother and never even learned her name. For a time, Roy Harper Sr. raised his son alone. Unfortunately, when his son was barely two years old, Roy, Sr. died while saving members of a Navajo reservation during a major fire. The shaman of the reservation Brave Bow adopted the young boy in gratitude for Roy, Sr.'s sacrifice.
Idk if it’s just me but this is the darkest thing I’ve seen in any form of media ever. And the fact that he’s just been frozen all this time and no one ever knew gives me chills. And the twist has been looming in my head since I’ve first seen that scene. Edit: The fact that green arrow never knew really pisses me off for some reason.

In season one it’s revealed he’s a clone when they talk to Roy about what happened. In the episode with the intervention for Roy he says he is a clone and was force grown to look older than Roy. His name is Jim. There was also a Jim Harper who operated as the Guardian in the '40s who was Roy's great-grandfather.
His brief relationship with the super-villain Cheshire made him the father of a young girl named Lian Harper. He has been a member of Team Arrow, the Teen Titans, Checkmate, the Suicide Squad, the Outsiders and the Justice League of America. Roy Harper was created by Mort Weisinger and George Papp, first appearing in More Fun Comics #73 .
