In conclusion, the nurse-patient relationship is a helping relationship established with the patient and/or their family based on interaction, communication, respect for ethical values, acceptance, and empathy in order to encourage introspection and behavioural change. Key components include communication, active listening, and respect.

Establishing positive and trusting therapeutic relationships with patients has long been recognised as an essential component of nursing practice and is important for effective care. There are various challenges in clinical practice that make it increasingly difficult to deliver effective care centred on such relationships.
Language Barrier. Language differences between the patient and the nurse are another preventive factor in effective communication. When the nurse and the patient do not share a common language, interaction between them is strained and very limited [9, 10, 11].Consequently, a patient may fail to understand the instructions from a nurse regarding the frequency of taking medication at home.
Instead, it is a report of what the patient feels, thinks, and perceives to be true. Objective nursing data, on the other hand, is based upon facts, not feelings or opinions. 5. Subjective data may lead nurses to conclude one nursing diagnosis while the objective data may point to a different nursing diagnosis.
