Rarity. They are a common breed, so getting your hands on one of these fabulous birds shouldn’t be a problem.

The British Poultry Standard for bantam Silkies is smaller, stating that male bantams should weigh 22oz, and female bantams should weigh just 18oz. Large fowl Silkie roosters should weigh 4lbs and silkie hens should weigh 3lbs. Silkies average 8-14 inches tall and 27.6 inches in length.

Each chicken should have at least 3 square feet of available living space in the coop and at least 6 square feet of exercise space in the connected run.
