Overview. The Timeline is an interactive visualization chart to visualize data in time. The data items can take place on a single date, or have a start and end date (a range). You can freely move and zoom in the timeline by dragging and scrolling in the Timeline. Items can be created, edited, and deleted in the timeline.
Use the URL for the Google Maps page (unless you are using Streetview, which currently requires the embed URL found in the "Share" section). Coordinates, search results, place marks and directions are all honored by Timeline. TimelineJS supports roadmap, hybrid, satellite and terrain Google Maps, as well as directions, places, and Streetview maps.
If this option is set to true, then TimelineJS will load the code necessary to support clips created using Knight Lab's SoundciteJS. This eliminates the need to add the embed code shown in step 3 of the Soundcite authoring tool. Simply copy the per-clip markup from step 2 into the "text" field for any TimelineJS event.

Adding gui.js script to the page will open a timeline panel on the bottom of the page if any animation was added before first frame. One track for every animated property will be created. Click and drag to edit key frames, double click to add new frames.
Generally, you don't have to think about it -- just enter the dates you want. Timeline can handle dates literally to the beginning of time. For dates more than about 250,000 years ago, only the year is usable. Support for those older dates is still relatively new, so if anything seems off, visit our tech support site.
