The movie Lost in Translation is an American romantic comedy-drama movie released in 2003. It was written and directed by Sofia Coppola and stars Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. Murray plays the role of aging actor Bob Harris, while Johansson plays a college graduate called Charlotte, who meets Harris at a Tokyo Hotel.
Bob Harris is an American film actor, far past his prime. He visits Tokyo to appear in commercials, and he meets Charlotte, the young wife of a visiting photographer. Bored and weary, Bob and Charlotte make ideal if improbable traveling companions. Charlotte is looking for "her place in life," and Bob is tolerating a mediocre stateside marriage.

Without it, the film could be unwatchable. With it, I can't take my eyes away. Not for a second, not for a frame, does his focus relax, and yet it seems effortless.
"Lost in Translation" trata de uma expressão americana que representa a parte cultural de palavras ou frases que se perde quando é traduzida para outra língua. Mesmo que a tradução seja feita correctamente. Aspectos ainda mais culturais podem ser uma barreira enorme para a comunicação entre povos.
