This was a commonly used drug for years to come to calm down LSD trips, but Syd, his trip was everlasting, and I think he used this to cope with that in a way. Heavy sedative tranquilizer with diphenhydramine in it and he'd down handfuls from late 1967 until at least 1972. The DPH alone was not helping.
