A lo largo de su trayectoria pictórica, Braque creó una serie de obras importantes que contribuyeron al desarrollo y la evolución del cubismo, uniendose primero a Picasso y, más tarde, a Juan Gris.
Georges Braque nació el 13 de mayo de 1882 en Argenteuil-sur-Seine, cerca de París. Cursó estudios en la Escuela de Bellas Artes y cerca de 1905 comenzó a pintar al modo de los fauvistas. En 1908 su interés se centró en las obras de Paul Cézanne.
