Käthe Kollwitz (1867-1945) - Biography of the artist. 1887–1888 Käthe Schmidt returned to Königsberg and had lessons with the painter Emil Neide (1843–1908). This painter of historical subjects, genre paintings and portraits from Königsberg was held in great esteem as a history painter in East Prussia.
