Johnson, Frisell, Metheny and Baron all have the considerable ability to think and react outside of jazz. And the musical forms they explore never bog down by preconceived notions of jazz nor suffer the spruced-up hyperbole of native instrumentation.
Prof. Johnson's EvoEco Lab addresses diverse questions in evolutionary ecology by merging techniques from genetics, evolution, ecology and chemistry. Although his lab's interests are broad, all aspects of research in the lab seek to understand the dynamic interplay between the evolution and ecology of species interactions, particularly as it relates to plant-animal interactions.
30 de ago. de 2021 · One of jazz bassist Marc Johnson’s old bosses was the legendary pianist Bill Evans, whose 1963 solo piano album Conversations with Myself was an ambitious recording experiment where he played along with his own overdubs. In a similar vein, Johnson’s solo bass album Overpass showcases the veteran musician accompanying himself on two songs and performing the rest in one take.
