The Pauline Oliveros Foundation changed its name to Deep Listening Institute, Ltd., in 2005. The Deep Listening Band, which included Oliveros, David Gamper (1947–2011) and Stuart Dempster, specializes in performing and recording in resonant or reverberant spaces such as caves, cathedrals and huge underground cisterns.

Pauline Oliveros. Kingston, New York. PAULINE OLIVEROS was a senior figure in contemporary American music. Her career spans fifty years of boundary dissolving music making. Since the 1960's she influenced American music profoundly through her work with improvisation, meditation, electronic music, myth and ritual. She was the founder of ";Deep Listening." She dies in 2016.
