Zain Asher was born on August 27, 1983 in Balham, London Borough of Wandsworth, England, to Arinze Ejiofor, a doctor, and Obiajulu, a pharmacist. She has an elder brother, Chiwetel Ejiofor, who is a well-known actor. She also has a sister whose name is Kandibe. She is of Igbo ancestry and her family hails from Enugu state, Ezeagu LGA, Nigeria.
