Hall is the The Davies Family Professor of Political Economy at Stanford Graduate School of Business, with a joint appointment in the Stanford University Political Science Department. He is a senior fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, and for the 2023–2024 academic year, he is a Spence Faculty Fellow.
Andrew Hall (19 January 1954 – 20 May 2019) was an English actor and theatre director. He was known for his role as Russell Parkinson in Carla Lane's BBC situation comedy Butterflies (1978–83). He was born in Manchester. Hall died on 20 May 2019 from cancer at the age of 65.

Andrew initially found fame as Russell Parkinson in the hugely successful BBC comedy Butterflies, in which he starred alongside Wendy Craig, Geoffrey Palmer and future Only Fools and Horses actor Nicholas Lyndhurst.
Andrew Hall is a Professor of Political Science and, by courtesy, a Professor of Political Economy at the Graduate School of Business. He is the co-director of the Democracy & Polarization Lab and a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research. Hall’s research focuses on designing better systems of democratic governance.

Andrew Hall is an English hedge fund manager who served as the head of commodities trading firm Phibro LLC and the head of his own hedge fund Astenbeck Capital. [1] In 2019, the Financial Times described him as the "most successful oil trader of his generation." [2]
