All Fall Down is a 1962 American drama film, adapted from the novel All Fall Down (1960) by James Leo Herlihy, who later wrote Midnight Cowboy (1965). John Frankenheimer directed and John Houseman produced. The screenplay was adapted by playwright William Inge and the film starred Eva Marie Saint and Warren Beatty.Upon its release, the film was a minor box-office hit.

I had wanted to see the film because Helen Shaver won a Genie (Canadian Oscar) for the movie last year, and I am a huge fan of hers because of "Desert Hearts." Wow. Going from playing a cool, elegant, blond, NYU English Professor in "Desert Hearts" to a strung-out, let-it-all-hang-out, chatty prostitute in "We All Fall Down" is a bit of a shocking turn (and very brave!)
