PLAYER 1977-1983. JC CROWLEY~RONN MOSS~JOHN FRIESEN~PETER BECKETT. PLAYER began as a chance meeting between Peter Beckett and J.C. Crowley, in 1977. They met by coincidence, both being the only two dressed in jeans and t-shirts, attending an all-white garb party in Hollywood. J.C. came from Galveston Bay, Texas, and Peter from Los Angeles.
An outstanding version of "Black Betty" was added to the end of the movie Basic, starring John Travolta, performed by Player arranged and produced by Peter Beckett. This song was made famous by blues legend Leadbelly. Once again in 2005, Peter and Ronn Moss teamed up to produce and record Ronn's second solo cd called 'Uncovered.'.

Peter would also release this song on his own solo album, Beckett, the same year. By 1992, Little River Band went on an extensive world wide tour throughout Europe and the USA. Peter was the featured artist, singing his number one hit from his PLAYER days, 'Baby Come Back'.
