Synopsis. The movie opens up with beautiful blond teenage girl, named Jesse (Elle Fanning), sprawled out across a love seat. Blood trickles down her body and onto the love seat and the floor beneath her. She is being photographed by Dean (Karl Glusman), a young amateur photographer whom she met on the Internet.

Con la “liberación” del personaje al que da vida una inmensa Jena Malone —entre otras cosas, protagoniza la secuencia más atrevida del film, aquella en la que tiene sexo con un cadáver—, Refn da paso a un tono claramente fantástico que creo beneficia enormemente el film.
Neon Demon patřil k projektům, jehož výsledek jsem se vůbec neodvažoval odhadnout, což se mi jakožto zdejšímu hororovému expertovi stává opravdu zřídkakdy. Už před mnoha lety jsem se v průběhu snímku Valhalla Rising přesvědčil, že Nicolas Winding Refn nedokáže uspokojivým způsobem pracovat s tempem příběhu, čímž pak trpí i výsledná atmosféra snímku.
