Tuxedomoon is een experimentele rockgroep opgericht in San Francisco, Californië, met als huidige vaste leden Blaine L. Reininger (zang, viool en gitaar), Steven Brown (keyboards en saxofoon) en bassist Peter Principle.
Basically herein Tuxedomoon invented a new form of futurism, one that worships the machine but also draws heavily on past classicism. Or to put it another way, the numerous classical and traditional references in Divine almost hang in suspended animation, ready to be manipulated by these industrial new-wave elitists.
Tuxedomoon. Pioneers in performance-oriented synthesizer music, Tuxedomoon started out in San Francisco at the very beginning of that city’s punk upsurge, in 1977. The mercurial aggregate of musicians and artists later relocated to Belgium and became a leading light in the international post-rock avant-garde.
