Peter Franklyn Bellamy (8 September 1944 – 24 September 1991) was an English folk singer. He was a founding member of The Young Tradition and also had a long solo career, recording numerous albums and touring folk clubs and concert halls. 19 de ene. de 2017 · Peter Bellamy and the original recording of The Transports The folk opera was released on Free Reed Records in 1977 featuring some of the biggest names from the Seventies folk revival – The Watersons, Martin Carthy, Nic Jones, A.L Lloyd, June Tabor, Cyril Tawney and Dave Swarbrick – and was named The Guardian’s Folk Album of the Year.
Notes. Recorded at Livingstone Studio, August/September 1977. Inside booklet has the story of convicts Henry Cabell and Susannah Holmes transported to Australia on the " First Fleet " in 1787 and the trials and tribulations which culminated in that voyage.
