  5. The New Beacon is a thriving and successful school of nearly 400 boys situated in a semi-rural location near Sevenoaks. The average size of class is 16, pupil teacher ratio 12:1. Boys are prepared for leading independent schools; each year many gain academic scholarships, or awards for music, art, and sport. Head's name: Mrs Sarah Brownsdon (Head)

  7. Tonbridge School and The New Beacon. The New Beacon Preparatory School and Tonbridge School merged with effect from 31 August 2021. Tonbridge School is approximately seven miles from Sevenoaks and is one of the UK’s leading independent schools for boys aged 13 to 18. It currently has 800 pupils, a blend of boarders (60%) and day pupils (40%).
