Three years after the original Tales from the Far Side, Gary Larson added another chapter to the legend. These two films are still pretty much the only movie projects he has worked on so far. The highlight of this short-film is definitely the animation.

In 1999, Gary re-edited and refined the original 22 minute Tales from the Far Side, and restored / expanded it to 30 minutes. Finally, in 2007, the DVD version of Tales from the Far Side I and II was released. What a journey. The humor makes a great transition from the printed page onto the television screen via classic cel animation.

1 de feb. de 2024 · In 1994, just a few months before the final Far Side comic was published, a short film based on the comics aired on CBS as a Halloween special, called Gary Larson's Tales from the Far Side. The award-winning anthology film was comprised of loosely-connected animated vignettes that satirized horror movie clichés and tropes and brilliantly captured the comic strip's macabre sense of humor.
