2 de sept. de 2010 · Red Silent Tides in my opinion sounds like a mix between Elvenking's last 3 albums as well as more mainstream influences. Songs like "Your Heroes Are Dead" and "Runereader" have hints of The Scythe. "Dawnmelting" and "The Play of the Leaves" remind me of "The Winter Wake".
After two well received albums in 2010 (Red Silent Tides) and 2012 (Era), you could pretty much surmise that Elvenking has been on cruise control these past few years. The Pagan Manifesto is a solid continuation of Elvenking’s tried and true sound with , dare I say it, a more mature approach than previously presented.
Red Silent Tides so far is the biggest surprise of this year and is awarded "Dismayer's Most Unexpected Musical Discovery of 2010". Elvenking has never been a band worthy of my attention, and I'm just happy I went over my prejudice and listened to this release, for I could have missed a very good album as well as a band to watch in the years to come.
