Douglas Wayne Sahm was an American musician, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born in San Antonio, Texas. Sahm is regarded as one of the main figures of Tex-Mex music, and as an important performer of Texan Music. He gained fame along with his band, the Sir Douglas Quintet, with a top-twenty hit in the United States and the United Kingdom with "She's About a Mover".
9 de feb. de 2007 · If you like Doug Sahm, then you will like his greatest hits, ranging from psychedelic rock, to hard blues, and Tex-Mex. If you don't dig this kind of sound, then I don't know what to tell you, other than keep listening to the Top 40 radio hits. Seriously though, I would recommend this album to anyone who enjoys genuine Tex-Mex.
Biography. Douglas Wayne Sahm was born November 6, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas. Considered to be a prodigy on steel-guitar, mandolin, and fiddle, he made his radio debut at age five singing "Teardrops In My Heart" on station KMAC in San Antonio. This was followed by two years of radio appearances on the Mutual network.
