Brandos frontman Dave Kincaid once led the Allies, an '80s power pop band that won an MTV contest with their video for "Emma Peel." Kincaid split from the Allies and moved to New York in 1985. There, he joined the band Soul Attack and changed their name to the Brandos.

In the Fall of 1984, Larry Mason and I were playing the Seattle club circuit as members of The Allies, one of the hardest working bands on the scene at the time.
