Lindisfarne are an English folk rock band from Newcastle upon Tyne established in 1968 (originally called Brethren). The original line-up comprised Alan Hull (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Ray Jackson (vocals, mandolin, harmonica), Simon Cowe (guitar, mandolin, banjo, keyboards), Rod Clements (bass guitar, violin) and Ray Laidlaw (drums).

Lindisfarne (også kaldet Holy Island) er en ø ud for Northumberlands kyst i det nordøstlige England. På en forhøjning ligger Lindisfarne slot. Ved ebbe har øen fastlandsforbindelse ad en bilvej, der er oversvømmet ved flod. Øen har 162 indbyggere i 2004.

Lindisfarne Priory’s museum and shop have recently undergone an exciting refurbishment! New objects have been put into the museum, some of which were excavated very recently. A new monument for St Cuthbert now marks his original burial place and a poem and artwork has been specially commissioned for the Priory.
